Headaches & Neck Pain

About This Treatment

Soft Tissue Massage, Myofascial release, Trigger Point release and joint mobilisations are all part of the treatment strategy we adopt in managing patients suffering from headaches and spinal pain.

There are many different types of headaches, however tension or cervicogenic headaches are most successfully treated with physiotherapy.

Any of the following symptoms may indicate that you are suffering from cervicogenic headaches:

Pain at the base of your skull
Side-locked headache with one- sided neck, shoulder or arm pain
Headache associated with certain neck postures or movements
Restricted Range of motion in the neck
Prolonged history of headaches with exacerbations and remissions

Cervicogenic headaches arise from dysfunction in the cervical musculoskeletal system leading to referral pain in the head.

Assessment is key to treating and managing this condition effectively.
